Apache as usual had wandered too far from Moonlight's herd. she was far beyond the safety of the group. She had found herself at the lowest point on the mountainside where the snow disolved into bare grey rock which in turn dissolved into lush green grass. Something nearby startled her, she thrust her head upwards and looked around with her large eyes. ears twitching nostrils flared and smelling the air. she knickered softly almost comforting herself....was something there?...she could not see.

Moonlight was grazing in the little valley. When he found his mare missing, he winnied frantically. Why hadn't he noitced before? Why hadn't he kept better watch? He round the mountianside and found her.
"Apache, there you are!"
Moonlight, winnied, relieved. Then he led her back to their valley.

Apache nickered in relief that it was moon that had found her and not some dark stallion that would snatch her away. She totted after moonlight into the valley and set her dial down to graze. She looked out off the side of the mountain and wondered what was out there.

(GREY!! You're back!!!)
Moonlight watched Apache start to graze. He realized suddenly that she was but a young, reckless filly out for adventure. He shook he head and let his mane fall to either side of his muscular neck.
"Be more careful next time, or somone might try to take you away,"
He nickered. He wasn't really mad at her; he just didn't want to see her hurt. As he lowered his dial to join her grazing, but something caught his eye. There was just a little, but he could distinctly see a bit of yellow plant near the spot where Apache was grazing. Piosionious plant! Before Moonlight knew what he was doing, he jumped in front of the mare and pushed her aside, out of harm's way - at least for now.
