Ok, this is our summer poetry contest. You may write about anything you want to, as long as you can connect it to summer. The contest ends on the 1st of September, and I will have someone (not me) judge it. Good Luck! ;D

Ok, I'll start.

Summer
Summer is a wonderful time
A time for warm weather
A time for fun and rymes.

Summer is like a bird flown away
He will come back, of that I am sure
Because Summer himself needs a get-away
And his time with us goes by in a blur.

Summer is made of flowers
Fun, energy, and good memories
Summer is a time to rejoice and bloom
It fills us all with happiness until snow fluries.

As the world goes by my window
And the days pass through my mind
There is one day, one "hello"
That sticks, not that hard to find.

It was the day I met you
That summer day that changed my life
The sun shone bright and the sky was so blue
The world sounded like a man with a fife.

As you walked through the pasture
I could see you eyes glow an ambery brown
Your head was held high, above the menure
And I could tell that you'd never crack a frown.

You walked up to me at first with a curious stance
It was love at first sight for me and you
I rolled up to you as I watched you dance
From your head up high my weelchair must be a odd view.

When you fianally settled down I was allowed in alone
You came up and snuffed me, asking for something more
And I saw that you were just skin and bone
I gave you a pat on the back, for you, just for.

The next day the sun came in through the curtin
And I saw you pranceing out there in the meadow
I rolled downstairs, just as quick as I was allowed by my kin
The door was open and your hair shone like snow.

They fianally allowed me to take you for a spin
That very first time was a great on at that;
You tested me, and I couldn't be forgiven
I ended up on the ground - OUCH, SPLAT!

You taught me determination and not to give up
You showed me how to ride well enough
When it was over you took the time to tell me - YUP
I LIKE CARROTS AND APPLES - great stuff.

The weeks and months passed and our bond grew stronger
There wasn't a single day that we didn't explore
Rain or shine we learned to work harder
Before you came along, my life was a bore.

"Be mine" was our phrase on Valintine's day
You lease was almost up, and I wanted you to stay
We cried that day when they tried to take you away
So much, in fact, that we kept them at bay.

Our time together was prolonged to my birthday
More memories, more happy moment to enjoy
And I hoped to God for us to find a way
Theoropy was working, so my parents decided to make you their new baby boy.

Summer came again, and I tossed my wheels away
I had better things to do then feel sorry for myself
When there was a newly discoved trail on which to play
We could travel there on new tip-toed stealth.

I promised myself that this would last,
You were more than a horse, no words could describe
But winter came too soon and on you passed.
You were there for me when I needed you most, thank you, friend, wherever you subside.

Now there is a new one, she calls herself Ryme
But nothing can replace what we were for me
I guess she is nice too, and I will like her in time
But my friend, my teacher, my pal, you would see.

You were my legs, but more importantly my heart, my soul
And in my heart there is a place where you live on
A special place only you and me can go, a hole
I want you to know that I couldn't be me today hadn't you come upon.
